Retirement SWP

See how long your retirement corpus lasts once you start drawing it down, with an optional pension offset.

ⓘ How this works

Once you've reached your FIRE / retirement corpus, the question shifts from "how do I grow this?" to "how do I draw it down without running out?" This calculator simulates a Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) framed specifically for retirement: you enter your monthly living expenses, and — if you have one — a monthly pension that offsets part of that spending, reducing how much you actually need to withdraw from savings each month. It shows whether your corpus lasts the full period you plan for, or runs out sooner, and how much would be left if it survives.

Your corpus lasts the full 30-year period you set, with a balance still remaining at the end.

Monthly withdrawal, year 30₹3.3L
Total withdrawn₹5.69 Cr
Net growth₹8.7 Cr
How these numbers are built
Your living costs rise 6% every year to keep today's purchasing power — so the corpus has to cover a steadily growing draw, not a flat one.
Expected return is nominal and an assumption, not a guarantee. Retirement portfolios are usually invested more cautiously, so a conservative figure is safer here.
A fixed return every year is unrealistic in retirement; a few bad early years can deplete a corpus that this smooth projection says survives. Pensions may or may not be inflation-indexed — confirm yours.

Risk note · Retirement projections compound small assumption changes over decades: a 1% difference in return or inflation can move the outcome by lakhs or crores. Markets are volatile, inflation is uncertain, and tax rules change. Treat these numbers as a planning range, revisit them yearly, and keep a safety margin.
